Aston Villa is exploring the sale of a 10% to 20% minority stake in its women’s team, according to people familiar with the discussions quoted by Bloomberg, as valuations for women’s football rise.
Aston Villa WFC could be valued at up to $80.1 million, with interest reportedly coming from several sports investors, including US National Women’s Soccer League backers.
Aston Villa is owned by Nassef Sawiris, wes edens and American investment firm Atairos, though no final decision has been made and a sale may ultimately not happen, sources said.
Aston Villa WFC, currently ranked 10th in the Women’s Super League, has gained attention amid a boom in women’s football, highlighted by Angel City FC’s $250 million valuation last year.
Most women’s teams in the UK are owned by men’s clubs, prompting owners like Nassef Sawiris to consider selling stakes to boost cash flow and meet financial rules.

Wydad’s Nassim Chadli Reportedly On Three UAE Clubs’ Radars
According to Al Muntakhab newspaper, Wydad’s winger Nassim Chadli, who is currently loaned to Al Jazira until the end of the season, is wanted by three UAE Pro League clubs, Al Jazira, who want to buy him permanently, Sharjah and Shabab Al Ahli.
However, the report stated that Wydad will likely not agree to a transfer for The 23-year-old due to the team needing him for their 2025 FIFA Club World Cup campaign. Chadli currently has a market value of $625K, according to Transfermarkt.
Zamalek Reportedly Sign Al Raed’s Karim El Berkaoui, Look To Add Teammate
According to Al Sharq Al Awsat newspaper, Egyptian side Zamalek have signed with Al Raed’s Moroccan forward Karim El Berkaoui.
The report also stated that Zamalek have reached an agreement with Al Raed’s management to buy Algerian winger Yousri Bouzok.
The report stated that most of Al Raed’s foreign players will leave the club at the end of the season as Al Raed are last in the Roshn Saudi League and heading for relegation.
Piatek Reportedly Rejects Al Ain’s Offer, Heading To Al Sadd
According to Lagazetta, Istanbul Basakesehir’s Polish striker Krysztof Piatek has rejected Al Ain’s offer and will sign with Qatari side Al Sadd.
The 29-year-old Polish striker has a market value of $7.9M according to Transfermarkt and his contract with Basaksehir ends in the summer of 2026.
