Zain Ali has won all three butterfly golds at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympics, Al-Ahli would need about €7.5 million to cover Marino Pusic’s contract before hiring Antonio Conte, and Al-Nassr want to extend Joao Felix’s contract until 2029 to block a Barcelona move.

Egypt’s Zain Ali Sweeps All Three Butterfly Golds At The Youth Olympics

What Is It About
Egypt’s Zain Ali won the men’s 200m butterfly at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games on Friday in a personal best 1:57.88. The race was the last of the swimming competition and completed his sweep of all three butterfly events, after golds in the 100m and 50m.

Why It Matters
His 100m gold was the first medal of the Games for Egypt, and he said that win was his favourite. “It was absolutely my goal from the start. This was what I trained for,” Ali said after the 200m. “It’s a huge moment for me and for my country.” He added that he trained by waking at 4am and that four years ago he “wasn’t even close to being here”.

What’s Next
Vietnam’s Duong Van Hoang Quy took silver in 2:00.32, Vietnam’s first swimming medal at the Games. India’s Tirthank Pegu took bronze in 2:01.25, the first Indian male swimming medallist at the Games.

Three Obstacles And A €7.5 Million Bill Stand Between Antonio Conte And Al-Ahli

What Is It About
Antonio Conte has emerged as a candidate to coach Al-Ahli, alongside Portugal’s Nuno Santo, to succeed Marino Pusic, according to Kooora. The club’s hierarchy are working to resolve the managerial situation after a slump in results and performances.

Why It Matters
Al-Ahli would first need to find around €7.5 million to cover the remaining obligations in Pusic’s contract. Kooora lists three obstacles to a Conte appointment: his salary and backroom staff demands, his preference for taking over at the start of a season, and the need for a clear sporting project with technical guarantees.

What’s Next
Al-Ahli also face an injury problem. Armenian attacker Eduard Spertsyan was forced off against Qatar’s Al-Sadd in the AFC Champions League Elite, and estimates of his absence range from 10 days or a fortnight to four weeks. His availability is in doubt for the Roshn League game against Al-Faisaly on November 20, the Champions League Elite match against Qatar’s Al-Shamal three days later, and the Jeddah derby against Al-Ittihad on November 26.

Al-Nassr Move To Lock Joao Felix Until 2029 And Block Barcelona

What Is It About
Al-Nassr’s board, chaired by Ahmed Al-Sultan, want to begin legal procedures to activate the unilateral extension clause in Joao Felix’s contract, which would keep him until the summer of 2029, according to Kooora’s sources. The move follows reports of renewed Barcelona interest in the Portuguese forward.

Why It Matters
Kooora reports that agent Jorge Mendes had been planning to take Felix to Barcelona on a free transfer or for a nominal fee. Activating the clause would force Al-Nassr to pay a deferred €20 million to Chelsea, bringing the total deal to €50 million, and would raise Felix’s salary from €10 million to €12.5 million a year.

What’s Next
The sources say the board are resolving some financial issues first, then will tell the Saudi Pro League they can provide the financial guarantees before the final deadline next May. Al-Nassr are expected to lean on liquidity from an investment partnership led by captain Cristiano Ronaldo with global funds.
