Racist Chants Spoil the Match Between Egypt & Spain

Iraq have also managed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup for the 2nd time in history. Another week of football madness you won’t want to miss!

Racist Chants Spoil the Match Between Egypt & Spain

  • The match between Spain and Egypt was interrupted by fans, who kept chanting racist chants, specifically towards Muslims. The Islamophobic comments were targeted towards the players, even though Lamine Yamal, Spain’s best player, is Muslim.

  • Lamine Yamal posted publicly on his Social Media condemning the act, stating “As a Muslim person it doesn't stop being disrespectful and something intolerable.”

  • Spain’s head coach, De La Fuente, also came out after the match and condemned the chants. He commented “I strongly condemn any racist, xenophobic, or disrespectful behavior. Such chants are unacceptable.”

  • The Spanish manager was extremely impressed with Egypt’s Islam Issa, who has been putting in solid performances for Egypt this past week, even scoring against Saudi Arabia.

  • The coach gave him the highest praise any player can get, which is being compared to Lionel Messi. De La Fuente said that Issa reminds him of Messi because of the way he plays in the field.

  • Egypt managed to draw 0-0 with Spain, when many thought that Spain will easily win and thrash the Egyptians. The match was held in Spain which is even more impressive that they did it away from home.

Stephan El Shaarawy Chose Italy Over Egypt to Play in World Cup; Never Played a Single World Cup Game

  • Stephan El Shaarawy famously chose to represent Italy on the national stage over Egypt, his reason being that he wanted to play in the world cup. at the time, Egypt hadn’t been to the world cup in decades, and Italy was one of the strongest sides in the world.

  • Fast forward to 2026, Italy have failed to qualify for the World Cup 3 times in a row, while Egypt have gone to 2 out of 3 World Cups. Stephan El Shaarawy has yet to play a single game in the world cup.
