"Fertile Environment For Football" Arsene Wenger On Egypt
FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development Arsene Wenger said "I am very happy to be in Egypt. The environment here is highly suitable for football competition” as he launched a FIFA-backed talent development project in Cairo.
Wenger visited the headquarters of the Egyptian Football Association to inaugurate the initiative, which is part of FIFA’s broader effort to help national football federations maximize their resources and improve coaching and player development.
Wenger added “To develop a great footballer, you need a great coach. That’s why we are here to improve the quality of coaching. Egypt has excellent coaches, but we aim to further their development because coaching is a fundamental part of success.”
Since his arrival at the helm of the EFA in November, Hany Abo Rida, Who is also a FIFA council member, has aimed for close cooperation with FIFA to develop football in Egypt. The EFA has described the FIFA project as a key step in its strategy to elevate Egyptian football.

L’Etape Dubai by Tour de France made its grand debut in the UAE this weekend, bringing together over 1,000 cycling enthusiasts and recording the highest number of participants for the first edition of any amateur cycling event in the history of the UAE.
The main race, held on Sunday, saw competitors set off from Dubai Design District on a thrilling 101-km route. A decisive push by Syrian national and UAE resident Ibrahiem Alrefai, along Zayed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street delivered a first-place finish at Expo Village Park.
Alrefai secured the first-ever L’Etape Dubai title with a time of 02:17:24. What a win for the 18-year-old Khorfakkan player!
