Saudi Arabia Reportedly Plans 2034 World Cup Stadium Cuts

What Is It About
Saudi Arabia is reportedly preparing to reduce its planned 2034 FIFA World Cup venues from 15 to 10. According to Semafor, five proposed stadiums could be dropped, including projects linked to NEOM, New Murabba, Roshn, Qiddiya Coast and King Abdullah Economic City.
Why It Matters
The reported changes come amid delays to major development projects, with PIF reportedly prioritising stadiums that can be delivered on schedule. The revised plan would include six new stadiums and four refurbished venues, removing ambitious proposals such as NEOM’s elevated stadium.
